| The raw materials are
purified clays coming from selectionned deposits to guarantee an excellent
manufacturing, essential to achieve the highest quality possible for
an Anduze vase.
The potter works the clay on 2 levels:
The beating "in paving"
The knead
There are 2 steps: the first being the manufacturing of the bell
and, coming second, the "foot".
Once these two operations completed, the potter assembles both
parts with a blend of clay and water ("slip")
The decorations (garlands and armorial bearing) are set down.
Then a fine layer of white clay is coated on the surface of the
vase and the drying period will last several weeks.
Once dry, the vases are enamelled using coloured glazes.
The last step "firing" or "scintering" last
48 hours in a k set at approximately 1050°C.
